Who we are
Bwaraat Academy ("we", "us") operates this learning platform from Groundfloor , Enterprise Centre, Raunds, Northamptonshire NN9 6GR, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this site and are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
What we collect
Account details (name, email, phone), enrolment and payment records (payments are processed by our payment provider — we never store full card numbers), learning records (course progress, quiz results, workbook submissions and assessor feedback), certificates issued, and enquiry messages you send us.
If your employer books training for you, we also receive your name and email from your employer to create your account.
Why we process it (lawful bases)
To deliver the training you purchased (contract); to issue and verify certificates, which requires keeping an accurate register (legitimate interest and legal obligation for regulated qualifications); to respond to enquiries (legitimate interest); and to send marketing emails only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
Trusted processors who help us run the platform: hosting, payment processing, email delivery and video hosting providers, each under a data-processing agreement. Where you enrol on a regulated qualification, awarding-body partners receive the data required for certification. If your employer funds your training, they can see your enrolment and completion status but not your quiz answers or reflective accounts.
Where it's stored and for how long
Data is hosted in the UK/EU. Learning and certificate records are kept while your certificate remains verifiable; account data is deleted on request or after prolonged inactivity, except records we must keep for legal, tax or awarding-body reasons.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data; object to or restrict processing; and take your data elsewhere (portability). Use the tools in your account settings or contact us. You can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with our response.
