Test
Test
Every course in this academy teaches a task that is delegated to a care practitioner by a registered professional. Each therefore begins from the same starting point — the six conditions that must all be met before the task may lawfully be carried out at all.
- •The task is delegated by a registered professional who knows your level of competence.
- •You have received task-specific, and where relevant person-specific, training.
- •You have been assessed as competent by a qualified assessor, recorded and dated.
- •There is a written, individualised care plan or protocol.
- •You accept the delegation and remain accountable for how you perform it.
- •Escalation and review arrangements are clear and available.
If any one of these is missing, the task must not be carried out.
Competence, not attendance
| STAGE | WHAT HAPPENS | EVIDENCE PRODUCED |
|---|---|---|
| Underpinning knowledge | Lecture notes and workbook completed | Completed workbook in the training file |
| Written assessment | 15–20 question paper, 80% pass mark | Marked paper and score recorded on the platform |
| Supervised practice | The learner performs the task under supervision | Supervision log signed by the supervising practitioner |
| Direct observation | A qualified assessor observes the full procedure | Observation record with date and assessor signature |
| Competency sign-off | Assessor confirms competence for that task | Signed competency statement and review date |
| Annual reassessment | Competence is re-observed each year | Updated sign-off; expiry alert issued beforehand |
