✓ Interactive live online — and one deliberate exception

All PLAB 1 and PLAB 2 mock examinations are delivered interactive live online. Each station runs in real time with a trained role-player and an examiner, using OSCE timing and the PLAB 2 marking domains. You are observed, scored, and given structured verbal feedback at the end of every station.

The one exception is the OSCE Procedures Crash Programme, which is delivered in person — practical procedures, SimMan and manikin stations cannot be learnt through a screen.

A written mark sheet and a personal development plan are issued after every mock.

“Sure Pass is not a bigger course. It is one mentor, your scenarios, and an honest mark after every single one.”

— PLAB 2 Sure Pass Programme

Essentials modules are short, focused and bought individually. Each one ends with a "Why candidates fail this station" analysis — a breakdown of the specific errors that lose marks in that scenario type, drawn from examiner mark sheets and from what we see in our own mocks.

Structured preparation for international medical graduates, combining examination technique with the communication skills and system knowledge that determine how successfully a doctor settles into NHS practice. Everything below is built around one question: why do capable doctors fail PLAB 2?

WHY CANDIDATES FAIL PLAB 2

Almost nobody fails on medical knowledge

Almost nobody fails PLAB 2 because they do not know enough medicine. They fail because of how they run the twelve minutes. Two failure patterns account for the overwhelming majority of results.

The station approach

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

No opening frame, no signposting, history and examination blurred together, management rushed into the last ninety seconds, safety-netting missed entirely.

WHAT WE DO ABOUT IT

A single repeatable station structure taught explicitly, then drilled until it survives time pressure. Every scenario is timed and marked against it.

The big picture

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

Treating the station as a knowledge test rather than a simulated patient encounter — missing the ideas, concerns and expectations, missing the emotional cue, correct diagnosis but a failed consultation.

WHAT WE DO ABOUT IT

Explicit teaching of what the examiner is actually scoring across the three domains, with model consultations and commentary showing the difference.

Cultural communication differences

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

Directness, use of names, breaking bad news, discussing sex, alcohol or death in a UK context, responding to a challenge or complaint.

WHAT WE DO ABOUT IT

A dedicated module on IMG-specific communication pitfalls, with side-by-side examples of what reads well and what reads badly to a UK examiner.

Running out of time

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

Good content delivered too late to be scored.

WHAT WE DO ABOUT IT

Timed practice with a visible clock from the first session, not the last.

No feedback loop

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

Practising the same mistake repeatedly with a study partner who cannot mark.

WHAT WE DO ABOUT IT

Every mock is examiner-marked with a written mark sheet and a personal development plan.

RECOMMENDED COMBINATIONS

Three worked packages, three budgets

Self-directed candidate

PLAB 2 Online Course (£259) + Essentials bundle (£249) + one 6-station mock (£99)

Total £607
Candidate resitting, or short on time

Sure Pass mentoring (£1,249) + 13-station mock (£189) + OSCE Procedures Crash Programme (£189)

Total £1,627
Candidate weak on procedures only

OSCE Procedures Crash Programme (£189) + 13-station mock (£189)

Total £378

Booking a mock within four weeks of the exam date is strongly advised; feedback is only useful if there is time left to act on it.
